中国美术学院民艺博物馆于2015年9月20日开馆，“天工开物 — 江南乡村民艺的世界”是开馆展览。展览通过“百椅百态”、“日用即道”、“格物之知”及“光影世象”四大板块，展出了以坐具、窗格、器具、皮影的四类收藏，展现传统乡村的工艺。民艺博物馆开馆展得到了社会各界的好评。其中空间展陈被评为2015CIDA 中国室内设计大奖公共空间奖，同时展览还被提名为2015“艺术新闻亚洲艺术贡献奖”年度艺术展览，被文化部评为2015年度全国美术馆优秀项目，并获得首届 IDEAT 理想家未来大奖。

2015 Tien-kung K’ai wu:The world of Crafts in the South of the Yangtze River Countryside

The Crafts Museum of China Academy of Art was opened to the public on September 20, 2015. "Tien-kung K’ai-wu: The world of Crafts in the South of the Yangtze River Countryside" was the debut exhibition of the museum. The exhibition displayed four types of collections, i.e., chairs, window decorations, tools and utensils, and shadow puppets, to show traditional craftsmanship in countryside. The opening of the crafts museum received high remarks from all circles of society. The space exhibition received CIDA Award for Public Space in 2015. The exhibition was also nominated for Art News Asian Art Contribution Award in the 2015 annual art exhibition. It received the honor of outstanding project among art museums around China in 2015 granted by the Ministry of Culture and won the first IDEAT award.
